Broaching is a highly precise and efficient procedure for industries like the automotive sector that need to process workpieces in high volumes and to consistent quality. Both combustion engines and electric drive systems use spur gears with straight gearing and planetary gears with helical gearing. We at FORST deliver robust RISH-series machines and the necessary high-precision tools for producing internal gearing on all kinds of straight or helical-geared gear wheels with both small and large diameters.

Through a combination of dedication and constant development, we have become the market leaders in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for helical broaching for ring gears, with a current market share of at least 80%. We are rightly proud of this achievement, as it is testament to the effectiveness of our helical broaching machines and helical broaching tools.

As the automotive industry shifts towards electric vehicles, the components that can be efficiently produced through broaching are also changing. What will never change, however, is the fact that you as a FORST customer can benefit from our decades of experience. In electric drives, we see a trend towards planetary gears with ever larger diameters. The helical gearing ensures high performance and quiet running in the electric motor at high torques. That is why our customers are now asking for broaching machines and tools that can produce helical-geared ring gears with inner diameters of up to approx. 260 mm. But we can also handle even larger diameters with ease. Another trend in electric drives is the increasing use of spur gears with smaller broached diameters of 25-50 mm. These too can of course be produced using machinery and tools from FORST.
